Colombo, August 20 – MPs Palani Thigambaram and Velu Kumar of the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA) were involved in a physical altercation during a live debate on a local TV show.
The video footage shows the two MPs exchanging harsh words, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. TV staff intervened promptly to separate the two.
Recently, MP Velu Kumar announced his support for President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming Presidential election, while MP Thigambaram, along with TPA leader Mano Ganesan, pledged their support to Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa.
