Colombo, May 8 (The reporter) – A total of 2,100 new recruits have been appointed to Grama Niladhari positions following the Grama Niladhari examination conducted until December 2, 2023.
The official ceremony took place this morning at Temple Trees, with President Ranil Wickremesinghe in attendance.
These appointments were made based on examination results. Those achieving the highest marks at the Divisional Secretariat level were selected for the Grama Niladhari positions.
President Wickremesinghe briefed the new village officials on government initiatives like ‘Aswasuma’ and ‘Urumaya’ aimed at uplifting low-income earners. He urged active participation in these programs for local economic development.
