Colombo, May 21 (The reporter) – Heavy showers exceeding 100mm are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara-Eliya districts, according to the Forecasting Division of the National Meteorological Centre.
They reported that South-West monsoon conditions are gradually establishing over the island, and the current showery and windy conditions will persist.
Cloudy skies are anticipated over most parts of the island.
In addition, thundershowers are predicted in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North-Western Provinces, along with the Galle and Matara districts.
Several spells of showers will also occur in the Northern and North-Central Provinces.
Strong winds of around 50 kmph can be expected at times across the island.
