Colombo, April 16 (The Reporter) – The railway service of the driver involved in yesterday’s Colombo Fort station platform collision has been suspended. This suspension is pending the outcome of an official investigation, according to Railways Deputy General Manager N.J. Indipolage.
The train, scheduled for Chillaw, struck platform number one while departing Colombo Fort at approximately 2:35 p.m. Thankfully, no injuries resulted from the incident. However, there was damage to the front of the train and a section of the platform.
